Help us make a Transcona girl’s dream come true.

If you ask Gabby’s family about her passion, the answer is clear: it’s art. She loves pencil drawing, fine line and Copic marker illustrations. Her family even turned their loft into a studio space for Gabby to work.

Gabby is Transcona born and raised. She’s taken swimming lessons at Transcona Pool, skating lessons at Roland Michener Arena and played soccer at Park City Community Centre. Gabby attends Grade 9 at Murdoch MacKay Collegiate but she has missed a lot of school for treatments.

Things have not been easy for Gabby and her family. She was diagnosed with scoliosis in 2016 and last May it was confirmed that she was also battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Gabby started treatment about a year ago, and it’s been a challenging journey. Infections, pneumonia, and secondary diabetes have all led to more nights spent at the hospital.

In March, Gabby started her last phase of treatment — the maintenance stage — that is expected to last until August 2020.

Aside from her art, Gabby loves camping, swimming, skateboarding, anime, and her dog Willow (a Jack Russell, dachshund, and chihuahua mix). She’s also a huge Harry Potter fan!

While Gabby is still thinking about her dream come true, she’s leaning toward the Wizarding World of Harry Potter where she can visit Hogwarts, have a Butterbeer and acquire a wand at Ollivander’s.

Thank you for helping make dreams come true!
