The worldwide presence of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has created a sense of uncertainty while compelling all of us to take unprecedented steps to protect ourselves, our families, and our communities. Be assured that we have taken precautions to protect our staff and members and will continue providing essential financial services throughout the pandemic.
Ensuring Safety & Cleanliness
We have implemented our emergency preparedness plan, which ensures business continuity in the face of the pandemic. It allows us to take responsive action to protect our staff, strengthen the ability to monitor the situation closely, and apply preventative measures. We have increased the sanitization of frequently used surfaces and encourage our staff and members to practice social distancing. Hand sanitizers are also available in each branch.
Our branches will be closed on Saturdays, beginning March 21, 2020. We are also constantly reviewing the need to reduce business hours in support of infection mitigation efforts and to protect our staff and members.
To help us do our jobs safely, we ask that you monitor your health. If you are experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever, difficulty breathing, if you are in quarantine or self-isolation, or have travelled in the last 14 days, please do not enter a Casera branch. As an alternative, we encourage you to use online banking as much as possible.
Online banking — view your accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, and send money via Interac e-Transfer® from your home computer, smartphone, or other mobile devices. Sign up for online banking by calling a Casera branch.
Casera CU Mobile App — use Casera’s app to access your accounts, send and receive funds through Interac e-Transfer®, and deposit cheques with Deposit Anywhere™. Download the app for free at the App Store or Google Play.
ATMs — access your funds at Casera’s ATMs or the ATMs of any credit union as part of the surcharge-free ding free® program. For a fee, you can also use the ATMs of other financial institutions in Winnipeg.

Do not be concerned about the safety of your deposits. All deposits (except for member shares and mutual funds) are fully guaranteed by the Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Manitoba.
Members holding fixed-rate deposits with Casera (RRSPs, RRIFs, TFSAs, and Term Deposits) will maintain their current rates and remaining terms until renewal.
Annual Meeting Postponed
In response to health officials who advised against holding public events, our Board of Directors has postponed Casera’s Annual General Meeting, which was scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2020. The meeting will be rescheduled later in 2020.
Our priorities are the health and well-being of our staff, members, and communities. We’re monitoring developments and following the public health advice of the government. If we need to adjust our operations, we will promptly communicate with members.
